Mary & Sean: two charismatic people with interesting backgrounds that became one. This couple has traveled the world and took on endless adventures, but for their wedding, they chose the privacy of the Cretan olive groves and their close family circle to share the moment with.
On this warm morning of October, Mary began her bridal preparations in a boutique hotel in the heart of Chania’s Old Town. Together with her mother and two bridesmaids, she enjoyed being pampered by beauty professionals and having breakfast with the best view of the city as her backdrop. Her choice of outfit was impeccable and matched her figure flawlessly: light minimal dress with an open back and a classic veil. She also chose an elegant up-do to complete the look and earthy-toned makeup with a subtle glam to it. Mary’s bridal bouquet of eucalyptus and ivory roses added a stylish contrast to this ethereal look. Mary was ready for her Big Day!
Accompanied by her mother and bridesmaids, the bride enjoyed a brief photo session walking on the iconic Old Port of Chania, where her ride – a gorgeous vintage black Citroën, was waiting for her to set off to the rustic Cretan winery. The admiration and enthusiasm of the people looking at them on this stroll was one to remember!
The ceremony was to take place in the courtyard of the winery’s historic residence. The naturally minimal chic of the rustic environment – the classic Mediterranean wooden chairs, tall pine trees, and traditional white-washed walls of the building- was perfectly complemented with the decor of lavish greenery and dozens of pale pink and peach roses. Cretan musicians added a time of joy to the wedding atmosphere of this soft Cretan autumn day, playing traditional rhythms
while everyone waited for the bride.
The bride arrived and walked down the aisle, to finally meet her beloved groom. The ceremony in the close circle of the two families was intimate and touching. After the heartfelt speech of the groom’s brother, Mary & Sean exchanged beautiful vows, narrating the story of their love and how lucky they are to have found one another. The couple shared a kiss under a shower of lavender & rose petals and set off for an intimate photo session around the cozy hillside town of Western Crete.
In the meantime, their families were treated to a variety of wines and an olive bar to the tunes of live Cretan music. As the couple arrived, it was time for the wedding dinner! Set in the atmospheric gardens of the winery, one long table was embellished with an astonishing lavish flower garland and elegant customized stationery.
Savouring the traditional Cretan dinner, the newlyweds and their families enjoyed an array of entertainment: live traditional music, Cretan dancers, DJ, and a fun upbeat jazz performance by the bride’s brother. The couple wanted to live this evening to the full and it couldn’t have been any more perfect.
The Big Day of Mary & Sean was a small wedding on a grande scale!
